I Blog
So many people in my faith community are blogging. I've realized today that I'm missing out on a big part of what our little branch of Christianity is all about. It's a very intelectual approach to answering the questions that have been asked by Christians of all time. That is "How do I better server Christ." So I relent.
This is the first post of my bloglife. Hopefully I'll have a few friends and perhaps a few foes comment on my work. It seems to connect the other members of my faith community in a way that I don't completely understand yet. As the first entery into my not so personal, online, for everyone to see, journal, that will be recorded for all time, and I will never be able to escape from I'm supposed to write about myself, my perspective on life and what this blog will mostly be about.
Stats:
Born 4/7/72 Trenton, NJ
Raised mostly in NY
Finish High school in MT at "Hellgate High"
Married at 19 to Tara also 19, 1/21/92
Got a marriage license 5 months later
Went to Miami to go to the Daniel Iverson Center for Theological Studies
Got kicked out shortly after we arrived
Went to Upper Room AOG where I rose in the ranks achieving the highly admired rank of head usher (No I didn't make senior head usher but I was working on it.)
Left URAOG (pronounced You Rag) to hang with some friends at Tara's Coffee House (The Warehouse Cafe)
Incorporated that little movement under the name the Call Church of Miami, Inc.
4 of the six "leaders" of our little alternative churched moved out of town leaving Tara and I holding the bag. That obviously was a recipe for disaster. So before things got bad we bailed too.
I have to mention Andy, the Kenny Rodgers look alike, actual real life coal miner, ex-pastor home church dude that writes like a college proffesor. He does home inspections. Not much of a need for handbuilt tents anymore. He's been influential in helping me form some of my ideas (my ideas???) about how to do church.
Hooked up with my friend Peter in Miami http://www.vitalmessage.com/ and his in-laws doing the home church thing where we learned that if you sin long enough you will eventually become gay. It's in Romans.
We hung out with that crew until God decided to send us back to the USA (West Palm Beach) for a new job that lasted a year before they fired me. (Loosers anyway.)
We waffled around a bit till one of our Miami peeps told us about http://www.whatischurch.com/ . I read everything I could about emergent church about a year ago but didn't find Mike blog till today. Go figure.
Now we are still chilling at the Bourque’s on Sundays.
Giving a shout here out to my new bud Brant, my lawyer T, John and Natelie (need blog link), the Easley's and Ahren. Oh and I can't forget Steve the wonder cook.
Had to take a pause last night the wife want me to go to bed. She didn't understand that I was blogging and couldn't be interrupted.
I worked on the linking up of my blog on my domain. All is cool now.
Peace -JH

Hooray! Nice to see you here- looking forward to reading your heretical, poorly spelled rants.
Somethings wrong with blogging if you can't be interrupted when your wife asks for you to join her in bed! - Love and Laughs, Tara
